Judy Sautell Headshot What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
My first job was at a restaurant called Farrells. It was a hamburger/ice cream parlor that catered to large groups and birthday parties. I worked there through college and learned a lot. It taught me that every employee is an integral part of the success of a business and that every job is important.

What motivates you professionally?
I love building new relationships and seeing projects come to fruition and become successful and knowing I had a small part in that. I also love the new challenges of day to day.

What should every potential franchisee evaluate when choosing a franchisor?
They should ask themselves “is this the right program for me”? There are many different types of franchise and not all fit everyone.

What is something most people don’t know about you?
I love to travel all over the world to deep sea fish. Being out in the open waters of the ocean is both relaxing and therapeutic to me.

What is the most important message you want to convey to prospective franchisees?
While this industry is challenging and can be difficult, it is also very rewarding. Love what you do.

What do you like most about your current role?
Putting my selling shoes back on. I spent 25 years selling in the beverage industry. Sales are in my blood.

What skills are essential to become a successful franchisee?
There are many essential skills to becoming a successful franchisee but I believe the most important ones are organization, leadership, communication, and passion.

What is your favorite book?
This is a tough one. I am an avid reader. I enjoy murder mysteries and time pieces. I think the books that stand most for me that I have read over the last few years are Nightgale by Kristin Hannah and All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Both brought me to tears.

If you had to pick another profession, what would it be?
Textile buyer. I love fabric of all kinds and just being around it makes me happy.

What is your favorite inspirational quote?
“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.” Dolly Parton
