Circle K Officially Launches in the UAE
Following its successful introduction into the UAE last year, Circle K -one of the largest convenience store chains around the world - celebrates its official launch with a commemorative Grand Opening Ceremony on Sunday, the 18th of September 2011 at Circle K in Emaar Business Square- Building 1.” So read the public announcement of the Grand Opening festivities in Dubai as Convenience Arabia officially launched their stores now open Circle K stores in the UAE capital.
John Patton and Bob Southwick, International Directors for Franchise, were on hand for the occasion.
The stores are merchandising the familiar Circle K proprietary brands including ThirstBuster and Take Away Café deli products. Other popular brands found on the Circle K store shelves in the United States, are also found on the c-store shelves in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, Dubai customers are wooed by fresh baked pastries with their appealing displays.
As they considered their options entering into the Dubai marketplace, Convenience Arabia recognized the small store business model was an under-developed segment in the industry. The convenience store was the answer, and Circle K the brand the company chose.
“The convenience store market is ready for rapid growth,” said Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of Convenience Arabia. “Since entering the UAE last year, we have enjoyed growth with 15 stores around Dubai.” He added, “Expansion promises to be more aggressive, not only in the UAE, but in the entire region, as well.”
Fami Al Shawa, Managing Director of Convenience Arabia, worked closely with John and Bob to create an exciting Grand Opening launch of Circle K in Dubai. Customers were treated to store specials and the more traditional grand opening elements from the U.S., including balloons and give-aways brandishing the Circle K logo.
